William Jessup University Theatre presents A Piece of My Heart, a second stage production directed by veteran Rob Gore, playing February 10-19. The show follows the journey of five army nurses and a country western singer through the Vietnam War and its aftermath. We would like to offer veterans a special discount to the show to thank them for their service.
Tickets are available at Jessup.edu/shows. Using code VETERANS, former service members can get $5 off per ticket to A Piece of My Heart (usually $15 each).
This is a powerful, true drama of six women who went to Vietnam: five nurses and a country western singer booked by an unscrupulous agent to entertain the troops. The play portrays each young woman before, during, and after her tour in the war-torn nation and ends as each leaves a personal token at the memorial wall in Washington.
This Second Stage production will be performed in the 40 seat performance lab (newly renovated by our generous donors). The purpose of second stage productions is to tackle renowned works of both classical and contemporary theatre literature. This material, often difficult in subject matter, is performed in an intimate space and requires advanced skill to execute.
Viewer discretion advised (some scenes and language may not be suitable for children).
February 10-19 | Fridays at 8pm, Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm, Sundays at 2pm. For questions, please email box office manager, Julia Livingstone, boxoffice@jessup.edu. |
