Bio: Sergeant Jenna Lombardo was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 9, 1985, and has since become one of the most decorated servicemembers in her field. She enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2005 and was quickly promoted to the rank of Sergeant within three years.
While in the Marines, Jenna engaged in two combat tours of duty in Iraq and was selected to be part of the Lioness Program, a group of women Marines who conducted intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations. After the Lioness Program, she was selected to serve as a liaison to facilitate the development of joint projects and activities to foster greater understanding and collaboration between U.S. military personnel and Iraqi families.
Throughout her career, Jenna has been awarded many recognitions, including being named Western Region Representative “Woman of the Year” in 2008, 2009, and 2011, and receiving the Marine Corps Meritorious Promotion in 2005, and Combat Meritorious Promotion in 2008. This was just the start of her awards, as Jenna also earned the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, as well as other commendations throughout her career.
Jenna is a great example of the bonds and greatness that come with serving in the United States Armed Forces. Her story and accomplishments are an inspiration to those both serving and those looking to join the ranks of our military.
