The Veterans Home of California-Yountville: Black History Conversation

February 29 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm PST

Black History Conversation - The Veterans Home of California-Yountville: Black History Conversation

As we embrace February, a month dedicated to celebrating Black History, we are reminded of the indelible impact Black veterans have made across various sectors, from arts to sciences and beyond. It is a time to reflect, honor, and learn from the rich history and contributions of Black Americans that have shaped the nation we live in today.

In line with this commemoration, we are thrilled to announce a special event in partnership with the Veterans Home of California-Yountville (VHC-Yountville) and the CalVet Minority Veterans Division. This event is designed to pay homage to the courage, valor, and sacrifices of Black veterans who have played pivotal roles in our Armed Forces. It is an opportunity to acknowledge their contributions, discuss the progress made, and deliberate on the challenges that remain, with a keen focus on building a more inclusive and supportive future for our veterans.

This gathering will serve as a platform to highlight the historical and ongoing contributions of Black veterans, share their experiences of striving for equality within the military, and explore forward-looking policy ideas aimed at enhancing support for Black veterans. Special emphasis will be placed on educating attendees about the benefits and resources available to minority veterans.
